I am the founder of an EdTech startup called Thutor (thutor.co) that specializes in finance courses for university students. We would like to run an introduction to cryptocurrency course on our EdTech platform that will offer SmartCash coins as rewards for students who get the highest marks in the crypto-currency course quiz each week.

You can see our current course offering on our home page (financial accounting, auditing, costing) which will expand to include a new the crypto course. Why a crypto-course? The aim of the course will be to introduce students from a traditional finance background to cryptocurrencies. SmartCash will be the first cryptos that the students learn which will be an excellent way of creating interest and understanding around the SmartCash ecosystem. Students will be rewarded based on their understanding therefore they will likely become advocates for cryptocurrencies and more specifically SmartCash. How the course will work An email will be sent at the beginning of the week detailing the topics and articles/videos that will be relevant to a quiz in that week. The topics will cover any of the following areas - History of cryptos - Mining - Important coins - Blockchain technology - Exchange gateways and trading A quiz will become available in the middle of the week and students will have until Friday to complete it, after which the answers will be made available and the winners announced.

The quiz will be 10 - 15 questions each week, 2 - 4 of these questions will be specific to the SmartCash currency and ecosystem. The top performers in the quiz each week will be announced on Facebook on Friday so the SmartCash community will be able to see the results on a weekly basis.

Timeline: The course will start on 19th of February. It will be free for anyone to register but will be specifically marketed to finance students. Funding: $2400 This will be used as follows: Total rewards = $350 x 4 weeks = $1 400 Marketing course = $50 x 4 = $200 Course creation and management = $200 x 4 = $800 My credentials: I am the co-founder of Thutor and grew the platform from 100 to 1200 monthly users since launch in June last year. I will also be creating the content for the course. I have given ICO and crypto presentations in Cape Town since July last year and have a strong background in finance, having worked as a lecturer at the top university in Africa and having passed all my CFA exams.
