SmartCash SMART Mining Basics Rating: 3,8/5 9932reviews

Looks like the Smartcash community is beginning to take off, i wanted to hop in and share a few things: I heard about the Cointelegraph mention of Smartcash; the Blockchain for Africa conference is coming soon and it’ll be neat to see how it progresses. Looking like this has a solid backing and with a little love from the community, the Smarthive technology can certainly take off. The concept of a truly decentralized currency jointly owned by the community is going to just get more and more popular. Besides, Smartcash sounds cool ON MINING: as of 7/26/17, difficulty for each block is currently 30K-50K. My user difficulty is around 9-12 million, which is almost 10 times what it was two days ago! I’m excited that so many people are getting on the mining now, but I have a 750 SMART balance and i’m like ‘AHH NO, i’m never going to get this last block for SmartDeposits!’ my r9 280x is pulling in an average of 441.2 Mh/s I and others are very much looking forward to a mining pool, which i’m assuming will appear shortly. Anyway, more small updates to come!

Personally I feel like humans are poorly-suited to govern humans effectively on large scales. As the community grows I feel like each individual geographical area will require more and more projects to happen in that area. As such, I feel like we should potentially start thinking about divisions in the Hive for various areas. Proposals for each area would be listed on a discussion board of some sort, with dedicated boards for each specific area. From there I imagine the best way to order proposals would be by how “hot” or “trending” they are, except this is the hard part since we’d have to find the criteria which will be used to make certain proposals “better” than others.

Certainly every single proposal will have a chance of being voted on in accordance with the usual voting rules, but the “top” proposals from each region could be put together for a sort of global snapshot of the latest stuff going on around the world. Maybe we can have certain flags for proposals which you could choose to better describe what the proposal intends to do in the local community on the ground, and what it would do for the SmartHive overall as a global community. And each month, or each quarter, or some other time period which we might find to be optimal, we would vote on which flags should be prioritized when evaluating proposals to see which ones are better. The flags could be assigned weights via votes I imagine. There are problems of course. For one I’m not sure whether say the local flags should be voted by the local Hive cell while the global flags would be voted on by the overall SmartHive.

Of course this could potentially mean that the schedule for the different votes are different. Additionallywould it mean that each Hive member had to now assign a location to themselves? I’m sure there are numerous people who would not want this to happen. Possible solution would be to have each wallets’ regional information be completely private and assigning a region involves some sort of fee or lock or security deposit of sorts that would prevent people from manipulating local elections by hopping around different local cells. Of course the global elections could just be held as is. Maybe this system is pretty bad though. Personally I feel as though until we can integrate machine learning and AI into the governance system it will be impossible to keep everyone perfectly happy.

As I said, people are inefficient at that. A learning system could provide purely mathematical opinions which could be used to advise and augment election results. After all usually the ones who are least aware of the correct choice are the ones actually making said choice. The gist of what I’m trying to say is that we will definitely need to find ways to cater to the needs of each specific community that we wish to integrate with the Hive. We need to be flexible and offer all sorts of various options to help a community grow and flourish. We need to be able to have an ear to the ground and listen to the voices on the streets to be able to answer their calls. At the same time we need to have a geo-stationary-orbit-camera view of the community as a whole, while providing the granularity required to appease so many groups.

So basicallythis is hard. Another idea that popped to mind as I was mulling this over was if we could offer post-proposal surveys after a certain period of time. Maybe even have a section in the proposal which describes how long after the proposal is implement we should gauge its effects. Again there would be location-based Hive cells which people would be tied to anonymously in some way. After the proposed amount of time passes a short survey is sent to each individual node/wallet in the particular area and a second set of surveys would be circulated at larger intervals to gather where the community stands overall. The region-specific surveys (or ballots even) would have a brief description of each project and then ask people to rate on a scale whether the project had a strong intended effect or a strong unintended effect (and maybe have an ability to specify the alternate effect), and whether the said effect (intended or not) had a postive or a negative influence on the area. Now that I think about it, I imagine the areas would have to be separated dynamically, allowing communities to shift over time as they tend to in reality.

Maybe have smart nodes act as the region centers or some form of region organizers. As for the other set of ballots, those would contain a brief description of the goal(s) that have been pursued on behalf of the SmartHive overall in the time period before the vote. Then people would be able to vote whether the real effect was anywhere close to the intended one, and if not close at all if there was a different description available which fit the actual effect. And again ask whether this effect seemed to improve the Hive overall, had no effect, or made the Hive worse. I still hold that having machine learning be used to predict and output the other potential effects for people to choose from would be the most fair since we could still include an “other” choice as well that people could pick if none of the alternate effects fit what actually happened. It could also be used to collect all the votes and weigh them against past data and maybe a few mathematical models to see good potential avenues to pursue or request additional avenues to be developed.

The idea behind this is that the system would be a tool that the Hive collectively uses to maintain a check on its health and steer it collectively. It would be a set of feedback instruments, like a form of advanced sensor. I feel like the project overall has a lot of shared traits with what Rick was describing was happening in his party.

This is why I think in the future it will be important to have proposals be agreed upon regionally rather than globally, so that people will need to wait less and are able to make better decisions about proposals since they will only be thinking about their immediate area and what particular needs that area may have. If SmartCash does happen to considerable increase in market value in the future, we could even think about splitting up the Hive fund into multiple tiers.

So if your proposal only took 0.0001% (0,0001%) of the total fund, it would be considered the lowest tier and would only need the majority approval from the closest 50-100 Smart holders. As the budget increased in scope we could assign it to a new tier, where it requires majority approval from a larger set of Smart holders. The number of people required for approval could even be a continuous function of the budget size, which could potentially create a feedback mechanism where if a proposal is not getting enough approval at a given budget the creators of the proposal could reduce the budget requirement which could allow them to reach approval easier. Different members of the Hive could have a level attached to them that is determined by how many funds total they have been approved for as well as how long they have been working with the Hive on different proposals.

The higher the level, the more trusted they’d be since they would have already proven themselves to consistently create proposals which benefit the community in the long term. People who consistently vote for other Hive members which continue bringing in positive results could also get a small level boost by keeping the proposal creators active with their vote. Perhaps this level could be used to adjust the weights of the votes of various Hive members, so that people with a high level (aka people who have proven themselves as a positive influence on the Hive) will get a slightly stronger vote weight.
