The first day of the Bitcoin Gold (BTG) mainnet release has been a chaotic one for many miners including me. Few of the many struggles included: • my BTG balance not showing up in the pools that I was mining at, • servers at the pool randomly shut off due to DoS attacks, • my wallet did not receive any BTG as it couldn't sync with the main blockchain, • and the list goes on. Reluctantly, after many attempts at different pools and perseverance, I managed to get everything working and I wanted to share this guide to those who are interested in mining it. I will provide links to of the mining software for both Windows & Linux, but keep in mind that this guide is mainly aimed for people using Windows OS as all my mining rigs are running Windows 10. What You Need: • A BTG wallet to hold your coins • Mining software specific to the graphic cards you will be using (AMD/Nvidia) • A mining pool • An exchange to trade in your coins for other coins or fiat 1.
